Giygas and the Mani Mani Statue (EarthBound) are also two good examples of pure terror.

If you have beat certain games or all games in the Kirby or EarthBound series, you know that there's some bosses and characters that are straight up nightmare fuel.
Scarfy (Kirby) is a good example, don't inhale it.
