Hi everyone. I knew this was going to happen but eh, might as well clear a few things up.
First off, I saw the memed “you made an error” glitch and I may as well comment on it. For those who did get the message, you did nothing wrong. That message was meant to be aimed towards me while I’m developing the game. That’s meant to tell me “you dun goofed” somewhere during development. I don’t know HOW that got by me since I didn’t change the way character values work. I’ll look into it and try get it patched on the weekend as well as fix some other issues. I don’t know how the old bugs resurfaced, but that’ll be checked out too.
I think it’s time to admit it, but I need to comment on why updates have been so slow since I saw some of you were getting impatient. It’s personal and you need to understand this is also something I have no control over, but I hope this clears a few things up.
You see, I released the game at the worst possible moment; which is when I was moving after my family and I sold our house at summer. Since then, I was going to different places, living in different environments and it crippled my ability to even update the game. Not just emotionally, but whenever Wi-Fi is concerned.
I went from having hotspot on limited memory at a cottage, to slow Internet that takes two hours to upload a 200 MB game, to limited data (as of now it’s all used up for the month) and now I can’t upload any updates to the game unless if I go to a high-speed Internet provider. That’s also why I was being quiet on GameJolt. I wasn’t being lazy, I was so, so busy and even when I have free time, I can’t patch the game nor let you guys know what’s going on.
It’s really unfortunate since this is something I have no control over and it pains me that this kind of inconvenience is hurting the game and my userbase as a whole. I wanted to avoid doing the mistakes Scott made, and now I not only repeated them, but made new ones due to real life issues.
However, I refuse to give up. Redacted deserves to end on a high note and I won’t rest until every bug and issue is crushed. You all deserve better and I’ll be sure to make the game as best as it can be. Some bugs CAN’T be fixed since some of the reports are even issues I can’t replicate for myself, and this is to be expected with programming. I’ll make sure I get rid of the ones that’s been plaguing the players for a while, and that’s my priority.
I hope to see you during the weekend. During that time, I wish you all a Safe and Happy Halloween!
~GB
