First off, I would like to apologize for not keeping everyone up to date. We have figured out most of the gameplay mechanics, in fact we are already working on putting them in game.
Which brings me to the next very important point. We are no longer using the Mugen engine and have switched to Unity. I have to send my biggest thanks to snuffysam#2767, who is currently the only experienced Unity developer on the team and is making an engine for the game. Meanwhile, I am coding DIO in the Mugen engine so the devs get a feel of how characters are supposed to play before we switch to Unity.
Switching to Unity will make the beginning development process longer, but we will be able to produce high quality content faster in the long term. You'll be getting very important features, such as online, story mode, minigames ect.
Personally, I am retiring from Mugen to learn Unity. I have to say that my almost 3 year Mugen development "career" was really fun, I learned a lot and found new passions, the biggest ones being game development and pixel art. I will still work on Weather Report with GisTrix#7349 as promised, but I will not release the Mugen version of your dear Funny Valentine. I don't have a problem if you rip his sprites from the game after it's released and make your own Mugen version of him, however, a lot of sprites were created by Stylish#7544, Babs#9740, @D Jack#6209, Ditchu#4379 and Strenton#2582 who have been a huge help to Funny Valentine for Mugen, so you'll have to ask them for permission. So now, what all of you have been waiting for. An extremely early and unpolished video of what I've been doing with DIO in the Mugen engine. Just a tiny showcase so I don't leave you hanging. You've been really supportive! For now, I will not reveal any of the mechanics, as the game is so early in development, the main engine isn't even done yet.
