Infinite Dust prototype 0.2.3 is available!


Hi there!
We are back with Infinite Dust 0.2.3!

As explained in our last devlog, the main changes concern:

  • a massive overhaul of the item catalog (from 217 to 147 items) and a simplification of the crafting system which was too demanding in the quantity of components to be assembled.

  • The ore distribution has been revised in order to have raw material much more accessible to the surface. (we also go from 11 to 7 types of collectable minerals)

  • Fixed major bugs in the backup (ex: parts of the station and the beacon that disappear after loading a backup)

  • Addition of new building parts and placement, bug fixes and optimization of building system

  • Fix problem of far clip plane on the camera

  • Fixed major bugs in the inventory

  • Added features “Equip”, “Use”, “Upgrade”, “Remove”, “Destroy”, “Throw” in the inventory

  • Improved player locomotion and jet-pack

Here is the complet Devlog:

Build System

  • Physics load Base,Outpost…(StartCheckTerrain.cs)

  • Improvements Build System + fix Bugs

  • Disable / Activate physics AOE distance of the player (Fundation, Angled fundation, beacon)

  • Add 8 new building blocks

  • Disable preview + build when open menu

  • Bug when removing terrain because too far

  • Fixe size of kitchen, projector light and medical pod

  • Fixe different bugs of orientation and compatibility

  • Bug handplaced: blocks disabled with distance if picked up or destructed on other structure

Beacon system

  • Remove all old compass beacon

  • Add positionList Balise->Database worldSave

  • NewScript HudManager (addCompassHud,remove and load)

  • Add if construct, check if doesn’t exist (protect terrain engine)

  • Remove with HudManager ->Player interaction, if object is destroyed

  • Beacon can be placed on foundation and floor

Game

  • Auto save application quit

  • New fracture kaiten

  • Kaiten can hit correctly IA

  • Hornix projectil can hit building blocks

  • Placement kaiten detect all building blocks

  • Collider QuestContener 1,2,3 removed

Menu

  • Save/Load menu option input (DataBase PrefPlayer)

  • Load, video, continue… buttons in the menu are not displayed (first Button)

  • Add a default button into the input menu

  • Add menu translations input in english + the function to modify the text

  • Bug change language, inverted

  • Animate the left/right section of the menu when the game is loaded or continued

  • Add numeric input new game

UI

  • Change the interaction (E) button from DataBase PlayerPref

  • Change help text buttons from the data base PlayerPref

  • Remove UI application when game quit + fade screen

  • Show / hide ui hud compass when open menu

Assembler + Kitchen

  • UI: Assembler + Kitchen update dropdown for the new item list

  • Assembler + Kitchen Refresh at the opening the number of craft

  • Fixe various bugs

  • Bug assembler select after craft and cancel

  • Bug addonDestructibleAppereance assembleur + kitchen when player quit the game

  • New backup system Assembler/kitchen

Inventory

  • Add bag in transparent if empty slot

  • Remove the item selected in the upgrade when the player menu is closed

  • Bug: Updating statistics in the upgrade part

  • Move Bag Item if empty and the last

  • Disable slot selection when you move the Bag object, if empty and/or the last

  • Fix bug Replace a bag

  • Change the slot of the icon in white of the selected bag

  • Fixe various bugs

  • Add context menu right click (Equip, Use, Upgrade, Remove, Destroy, Throw)

  • Add the items in the inventory selected

Items

  • New complete items catalog

  • Complete redesign of craft components

  • Complete redisign of loot

Player

  • Slightly increase walking speed

  • Increase run speed

  • Increases reload rate of stamina

  • Increase the speed of animations for the 3rd person view (walk,run..)

  • Jetpack add force + increase the duration

  • Food and water, not 100% when the player level up

  • Camera Near 0.5 -> 0.1 + optimization (near light)

  • Obstacle height step offset 0.3->0.8

  • Slope: limit + sliding down

  • Fix Bug starting placement, not inside the capsule

Environment

  • Fixe light, bad FPS during sunset

  • New fractured assets + interaction terrain object

  • New Colliders all tree + all big objects

  • Improved diversity of biomes and terrain topology

Mineral

  • Add mineral at the surface and increase density

  • Add magnesium and aluminium

  • Cobalt, gold, Platinum, nickel and carbone removed

  • Add interaction with the crystal in the caves, can be broken or drilled, drop Novanium

IA

  • Bug: Highlight the model when there is a loot

Physic

  • Physical optimization of all objects
