Info about the future for me in the project

Hello people on the internet! It´s me Rasmus again with a new devlog here. This devlog will be a little bit weird for me. The reason why is because I haven’t had time to work on the project for a while thanks to Christmas, new year eve and a little vacation to the mountains for some skiing. So in this devlog I will explain more what I want to change, explain a little deeper what I have done and what I will do in the future for this project.

What will the future look like?

Right now we got a little bit tight on the schedule. We have only a few weeks left on this project. On these weeks we need to work on the project and make a presentation and a report for this. So my plans for the project is to make a working prototype. To make a prototype I need to put my pipeline on ice for a while and work on some other stuff, like the ai. I hope I can go back to the pipeline but I´m not sure if I will have the time for that. I had some plans for a test with the pipeline to see how efficient it is. To see how easy and how much time I can save with it. The test will be hard to do now because all the designers in the group have a lot of other stuff to do, so maybe in the end I need to do the abilities.

More information about the pipeline

Now I will explain a little more about the pipeline. My vision for the pipeline right now is the basic of the basic what I wanted for it. The reason the workflow for it have been slow is because I need to rethink a lot about it in the start. Before we started the project I thought that the abilities would be a lot different. Something like fireballs, lighting that sort of stuff but that wasn´t really the deal here. So the start of the project I got a lot of problems with how I would start and what I should because the abilities in the game was really simple.

I will talk a little bit now about the pipeline, what´s good and bad. Right now it’s a bit hard to see what´s really good with it because it’s a bit basic. What I mean with basic is that all the features are simple and I have only accomplished my minimum goal. Something I think is pretty good and nice to have is my automatic buy button system. I have showed it in another devlog but what it does is putting out a button using code in the right column, so that the designer doesn’t need to think about it. Something that I want to change but doesn’t have time for right now is how I use the scriptable object. How we use it now is to make a new for every ability but my vision is to have one a scriptable object for every type of ability. That’s my ultimate vision but I don’t think it will happen.

So in the coming few weeks I will work on the ai and other stuff so we can make the game work. I will also do a few abilities for the Luna because the designers will not have time to work on this. I also hope that I will have time to work on the pipeline, fix some old stuff and work more on features for it.
That´s it for me bye!

Did you know that today is #InternationalJazzDay? 🎷😎

No? 😯 Well, we couldn't pass up this date!

And what better to celebrate this day than #Pecaminosa #OST? 🎷

Let us know what you think about it and have a great weekend!

I have added rewards for quests so that villagers can give you something in return for your hard work helping them. 🥳

I want to know - what's your favourite quest reward?

Hi everyone! I started to create some environment props for my new video game, here is a cozy house in the forest. I'm planning to switch from Unity to Unreal... Let's see what new challenges I have to face. Made in Blender and Substance Painter.
