New feature coming: DBAI
Deadly beam artificial intelligence or just DBAI is the new static turret robotic entity. It will try to hit you with a deadly beam to difficult your way to the goal.
This is one of the new features that will be available in the next version.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)
