As of yesterday (6/23), it's been 9 years since my first game - CvZ - released! In the time since, I've released 16 more games, a Terraria mod, and a Prestige Tree mod.
In just the past year alone, I released 4 games: Colorful Factory the day before my 8th anniversary (6/22/2025); the Halloween Mashup on, well, Halloween; A Week At The Hexagon (1/10/2026) for a one-week challenge; and Loopy Tower (1/29/2026) - an unusual game for me to make but one I enjoyed making nonetheless! And between all of that, I updated TDTest Unity to Version 0.3 (12/6/2025).
I didn't think I'd make it this far with a portfolio so vast - personally when I started out I thought I would just be sticking with a smaller number of projects that were updated continuously over multiple years, but that clearly didn't happen. Not that I'm complaining of course! It's been lovely trying multiple didn't game styles and seeing what I really like working on.
Honestly, I can't really say what I have planned from here. I want to do something cool for the 10th anniversary next year, but with how busy Another Week at the Hexagon is going to make me paired up with my upcoming college semesters - I don't think I'll have the chance.
Beyond that however, I want to revisit some old games. I really do love a lot of them and I think I could do something great with some looking over, improving and tweaking things to fit my modern style, and expanding on ideas they covered.
Main example I can think of would be CvZ - which I know I've been saying I want to revisit and work on again for up to 4 years at this point - but I have a ton of ideas for it that I think would be really fun to mess around with. My big concern is that it would take a lot of time, and as a result wouldn't be ready for at least another year or so.
If I wanted to go for something smaller, remaking the Minigame Collection would be a good game to go for. Alternatively I could remake Platformer Test, since a surprising number of people have asked for a remake, or one of the many Colorful Madness games. I really do have a lot of options - it's just a matter of which to choose.
I will say, I didn't really expect any of my games to blow up! So seeing Colorful Factory get a lot of attention, then A Week at the Hexagon getting more attention, and then as of this month, Loopy Tower suddenly exploding? That felt good! I fully expected to stay small after the original TDTest got a bit of traction around its release, but I welcome the new eyes on my games!
I will say, despite how popular these games do get, I don't operate on whatever's popular, so I will continue making weird games or projects that feel out-there, such as Halloween Mashup or Loopy Tower, as those were on-whim games.
Just letting you guys know that, in case an older project suddenly gets updated, it's cuz I wanted to update it. Looking mainly at Loopy Tower with this one - I've thought about an update since about a week after it's release! Who knows if I'll ever get around to it though. ;p
But yea, that's all I got to ramble about for the 9th anniversary - with hopefully many more years to come! I'll see you all next Tuesday for the next Another Week teaser.
P.S. - This would've come out yesterday - but the artwork at the top of this post took significantly longer than I expected to make.
