This one took some time to make; mainly because I was busy with recoding CDH1 Reopened, and overall just having kind of a low motivation to make this.
But the video's done, it's up. Now I'll most likely just take a break, and also release a quick update to CDH4.
About the video, here's a TL;DR
The Pricklz is a confusing and inconsistent entry in the Cube’s Dark Hours series, originally designed as a prequel-style side game set within the early timeline (somewhere slightly before the events of CDH1). While it introduced new characters, mechanics, and story elements, it ultimately struggled to establish a clear identity; blending humor, mystery, and horror in a way that never fully came together.
Looking back, the game feels unfocused and mechanically scattered, with multiple overlapping systems that don’t always connect into a cohesive experience. Characters and story moments exist, but often lack proper buildup or emotional impact, making the overall experience feel more disjointed than intentional.
Because of this, The Pricklz is now planned for a full reboot rather than a simple remake. The goal is not to erase the original, but to completely rework its structure, tone, and gameplay direction while preserving its core characters and place in the timeline.
The reboot aims to give the game a stronger identity, shifting toward a more focused thriller experience with gradually unfolding narrative ambiguity. Instead of leaning on humor or scattered mechanics, it will try to emphasize tension, consistency, and intentional storytelling, while slowly revealing that the events may not be exactly as they appear.
Ultimately, The Pricklz reboot is intended to transform a messy, directionless entry into a more cohesive and meaningful part of the series, acting as a proper bridge between CDH2 Reshined and CDH3 Remake/Reboot while restoring clarity, purpose, and narrative weight to the experience.
