It's Time for an Upgrade to Cross/Me's Combat System, and It's Up To You To Decide On It

Cross/Me’s Final Fantasy VII style of combat has existed for about 7 months now, and I believe it’s time for a change. It’s up to you to decide.

Pros and Cons of the New Engine Designs

Option 1: “Just keep it how it is, simple and fun!”
PROS:

  • Simple, easy to understand gameplay.

  • The ability to control a whole team.

CONS:

  • Slow game pace.

  • No free-for-all battle option.

Option 2: Board game type structure!
PROS:

  • Allows for more in-depth strategy.

  • The ability to control a whole team.

  • The ability to attack from different angles, opening doors for more interesting abilities.

  • Free-for-all battle options available.

CONS:

  • Even slower game pace.

Option 3: Side-scroller combat with MOBA-like ability activation!
PROS:

  • Much faster game pace.

  • Good players might have a chance of beating very powerful characters with much weaker ones if they play right.

  • Free-for-all battle options available.

CONS:

  • Only allows for control of one character per match.

  • Loss of some RPG elements, leading towards a Super Smash Bros. feel.

Thank you for helping me out! And do note, that if you do stick with the original FF7 combat, there will be minor tweaks to it that I’ll be putting in to make it a little better. But it won’t go any faster.

Enemies can also suddenly spawn through Realm Rifts. These Rift Spawns are going to be stronger than the ones wandering around. TBD on the enemies... #screenshotsaturday #godstear #madewithunity

Quantum precognition is one of the most powerful cards. End game cards & equipment. Demo/alpha build boss is no match for this deck.

Explosive domino effect

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
