Its been a very long while

Hey there.

Its been a while since i updated this game. Its been a while since i touched this game.

Mostly was busy with a lot of stuff. And then momentum kinda went dry. Other projects came up. Got busy with day jobs and such and such.

But there’s something about this game that had me thinking.

That the fact that this unfinished project garnered about 2000 views and like 40 plus followers, maybe showed that this game had some potential back when i made it. (ok maybe it was like waay back then, but its still there)

I was passionate about it back then. And i wished i could get back that passion for this.

To be honest, I’m currently mostly focusing on a new project. One that i had in mind for a few years. One that basically made me to develop 2 prototypes which was a testing ground for this particular idea.

Those 2 games were ‘Defense of Khalata’ and ‘Ten Days of Reckoning’

Both were initially based on the same story. Though the main story is still unfinished, those games were the place i tested the basic game mechanics. The hack and slash mechanic, the combo system, leveling up, stat systems, basic enemy AI and stuff.

I figured i may be distracted by a lot of things. I honestly feel that i am easily distracted. I start stuff and yet I’m not finishing it. And i hate myself for that.

And after like meeting my game dev friends like Shawn Beck, Bazil, even Wan Hazmer of FF15 ( he came to Malaysia currently and was giving a talk at an event in KL), i thought to myself that i should just do what i wanted to do in the first place.

Rather doing these small2 temporary things, i should really focus on my big picture. My actual game story.

So the past weekend was spent on me writing back the original story. Trying to finish it. Trying to develop the characters and giving it the backbone of the story that it deserve. I’ll develop more on the details as I go, but I feel like im making some progress with this.

Now in relation with Chase Adventures, This story had an interesting premise and intro, only i never get to finish this story. So as of now, I’m still holding Chase Adventures to future developments.

Instead, Im considering to apply the Turn Based Battle mechanic to my new game.

I thought to myself that a lot of people nowadays are already in the Action RPG type of mechanic. There’s that guy whose also inspired by FF15 and made a whole game by himself and it looks like really really awesome. Lost Souls Aside. You should check the trailer for it. It was really beautiful.

It was more or less what i was trying to ambitiously achieve with my limited knowledge.

And so i figured, given the nature of my game story is more or less like a typical rpg style, i might go with the turn based system. Not many i see are still pushing for these types of games. especially in 3D or in Unity even.

So pray for me. pray for my success. pray that i wont be distracted by other things. i hope that i could really focus and manage my time better so that i would spend more time with this idea.

They say that ideas dont mean a thing if it stays an idea. So im gonna make this work. I’ll do my research. I’ll work on my mechanics. I’ll search for assets. Search for new partners. New team members. New inspirations.

Hopefully something will come out of this. Hopefully something that i would be proud of.

Here’s to the future

ps: in the mean time, play my other games. Would love to hear your feedback and comments on them. Thanks a bunch

Did you know that today is #InternationalJazzDay? 🎷😎

No? 😯 Well, we couldn't pass up this date!

And what better to celebrate this day than #Pecaminosa #OST? 🎷

Let us know what you think about it and have a great weekend!

Quantum precognition is one of the most powerful cards. End game cards & equipment. Demo/alpha build boss is no match for this deck.

I was bored, so... ManutKat.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Strange Umbrella

Regional Bulbasaur. #Pokemon

not the greatest house, but it's a house! :D

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!

Got some fun collectibles in our game, Path of Kami!
