A number of these changes actually stemmed from suggestions by one of this mod's top supporters: @KingOrange! He's given us quite the list of ideas, and while not all of his ideas are being added, some of his more complex and involved suggestions will be considered in the future.
Now... why another update? It's been revealed that the next update for Monsters & Mortals merging the Steam and Epic Games Build will also port the game to Unreal Engine 5. This will drastically affect JAMMM, as well as every other mod for the game. Not only will everything on the ends of modders be changing, but some of our tools simply aren't compatible with the new engine version.
What does this mean for JAMMM? Obviously I'm not an expert, but expect the following...
A mod update will need to be pushed out soon after the next official update asap just to have something functional
Some content will be gutted from the mod for at least the foreseeable future, at most forever (enhanced hedges, reorganized menu UI, edited description and skin name text, etc.)
Other content may not be available right away (more complex additions like Monstrum pipes)
The mod will be packaged more compactly (much fewer folders) due to the way modding in Unreal Engine 5 works (also no more Feature Removal Guide)
It sucks, and modding this game will lose some of its prior freedom, but JAMMM is in no way going anywhere. Despite these inconveniences, this mod will press on, adapt, and continue to bring new and hopefully exciting features to the player base. We'll just have to wait and see how things play out!
Thanks for reading, and have a great rest of your day. Goodbye!
