Not the most uplifting news moving forward, but I'd rather share it now as opposed to any time later on.
Delay to 2025
I wanted to start with this point since it's undeniably the most vital. While development has been going great, as we get closer to the end of the year, we're not the most confident about making the deadline. When the chapter will come out is a mystery to even the development team, but we wanted to announce this right away for the sake of transparency. You all deserve a quality product, and we think extra time would be highly beneficial for Chapter 1. I don't want to sugarcoat it, this is a real shame at the end of the day. However, there may or may not be a teaser that goes up soon after this post does...
Who's "We"?
I'm glad you asked! Even though this has been the case for some time now, I don't think I ever made a proper public announcement outside of places like Discord. Over the Summer, to facilitate all areas of development and improve every department, I brought on some invaluable people:
@Ape1463 - Programming
@Argo4 - Programming & Game Design
@Fattest_Engie - Writing
@Impaster - Writing & Game Design
These four developers are all people I've known and trusted for a while, and with them on board development has been so much better! I still direct everything and am always involved with development, and things are far better than they would've been if I remained alone. We've also decided on a group of playtesters for quality assurance and feedback, so I'm hoping for a clean launch!
Development Moving Forward
To be blunt, Chapter 1 has not had the best development. This is something I take full responsibility for, but to me, these were nothing but growing pains. For the first half of it, I was the only developer with a limited group of feedback members. Things are evidently and fortunately much different now. I can say with confidence that future installments, especially Chapter 2, will be developed far more efficiently. More hands will be on deck from the beginning, and I'm anticipating a smooth development cycle moving forward. This is not to discredit Chapter 1 when it finally does come out, but rather to help contextualize our first and hopefully only delay.
Thanks for reading, and have a great rest of your day. Goodbye!
