Hey everyone, RetroX here. I've been hard at work on various aspects of JO-Rush, including the upcoming version 0.6. I'm writing this article to give a bit of insight on where the project is heading.
First off, as stated in the recent Mini Direct Version 0.6 is the next major release of JO-Rush. This build features bug fixes, balance changes, and content updates. I go into more detail during the Mini Direct that you can watch here: JO-Rush Mini Direct - 9/12/2022 - YouTube. I don't have an exact release date for Version 0.6, but I'd say the new builds will drop within the next few weeks.
At the time of writing this, Demo 0.5 has received 200+ Downloads! I want to thank you all for the support, and I hope you'll stick around for future updates.
Now in regard to Version 1.0, if you're reading this now, I've already uploaded a video showing a W.I.P version of Sonic's new model. Sonic, Jotaro, Tails, and Kakyoin will be receiving brand new models in 1.0, as well as updated rigs. Since the rigs will be updated, I will have to reanimate all 4 of them in addition to the 4 new characters being added to 1.0. The gap between 0.6 and 1.0 will be large, and I can't even begin to imagine a potential release date, but hopefully it's out either early or mid 2023.
Now for some news I'm excited to share. With the release of Version 0.6, I will be launching the official JO-Rush website! Currently, this site is planned to have an update blog, gameplay and character info, and a forum for players to chat and discuss things about JO-Rush, Sonic, Jojo, and other topics! This is also where future builds of JO-Rush can be downloaded from.
Now, what does that mean for the GameJolt page? The GameJolt page will still be active......for a little bit. Having a separate site that basically fills the role of the GameJolt page (but arguably better) would make this page redundant. This page will still see some updates come in here and there, but eventually everything will move to the site. Don't worry, Demo 0.5 and Version 0.6 will still be available to download from here, and I might also make 1.0 downloadable here too, but after that everything moves to the site.
Additionally, JO-Rush will also receive its own YouTube channel, separate from mine as that channel will be used for my original projects (appreciate it if you stay subscribed, or subscribe if you haven't). This channel will launch around the same time the site goes live. The Twitter for JO-Rush will remain the same, and is here: JO-Rush (@SonicProjectJ1) / Twitter
But that's about it, I think. I just want to say again, thanks so much for support everyone. This is a project I'm really passionate about, and I glad that you guys have given it a chance.
So, until next time, see ya guys.
