Hey everyone. Got a big one for y'all today. I'm gonna start with the smaller one first and then go up from there this time around.
Plants vs. Zombies 2 Ultimatum
For the two people that care about the PvZ 2 mod that I've been working on, you'll recall how I mentioned in the last devlog that the whole mod was getting reworked. To update that, practically half the mod is done getting revamped (Far Future in its current state is gonna be tweaked to match the rest of the mod too) and I've already done quite a bit of plant balancing to hopefully make the mod a bit more balanced all in all.
While I don't really have much to show you guys with this one, probably expect the update on this one to be released anywhere from September to the end of the year. I can't give a release date for obvious reasons, so just keep your eyes peeled and I'll let you guys know when the game is close to getting updated!
Lastly, before I close this one off, just wanted to know what you guys think of possibly having a public beta-testing build for the update before I tweak and officially release it. It'd be a new thing for me to do for sure, but it might help given that I often struggle to find testers for Ultimatum specifically. So let me know what you all think in the comments and I might push this one out as a public beta-testing build first.
Goofy Silly Encounters
Yes, this isn't the biggest one of all this devlog (devlog this time around is kinda stacked as you'll see). That doesn't mean that I don't have a good chunk of stuff to show this time around, though!
First off, a certain blue-colored gem was teased about a month ago on GSE's gamepage, so here is Lapis' full render!

(Admittedly, I could maybe redo this one to look a bit better in the future, but I think it gets the point across)
Secondly, the office mechanics are nearing completion pretty fast! Most of the game's action will take place in the cameras, where it will have three systems:
Camera System - Does exactly what you think it does. Let's you navigate across the different rooms and lets you deal with some characters in them.
Windows System - Specialized system where popups caused by certain characters will appear, where you will have to perform all kinds of miscellaneous tasks to deter them. In older versions of GSE, there was an individual game console and a notepad outside of the cameras, but aspects of both these utilities will be found in said popups in the Windows System!
Tasks Sytem - That's right, this game is task-based. Well... tasks isn't the BEST word to describe them. They're more like smaller games inside of the system. Here, you'll win various different games several times in order to complete the night. What kind of games will be in the task system? Well, I don't want to reveal all of them, but I can show you a screenshot of one:
Goose Hunt

This task is a Duck Hunt clone, where you have to shoot a certain number of flying geese to win! The points tell you how many you have to earn in order to complete the task.
Careful, though, as bombs will also fly across the screen, and clicking them will cause you to instantly lose the task! Additionally, geese with guns will slide in to shoot you instead! If you don't shoot them in time, then they'll be the first to draw their gun, causing you to lose the task that way instead!
So as you can see, the tasks, while being fairly short and simple in isolation, still require a decent bit of focus in order to complete efficiently. And remember; you'll still have to deal with a plethora of characters in the middle of completing these tasks!
No need to panic, though, as the tasks pause automatically if you exit out of the Tasks System, but will resume immediately upon going back to them, so keep that in mind as you're juggling between the tasks and characters!
Hopefully this gives you guys a bit more of an idea on what to expect from this game! The last thing that I want to show you guys before moving on are some of the camera renders that I've done for the game! (They're all technically complete, but I think showing off a few for now will suffice...)

Headspace Night
The last item on this month's devlog is Headspace Night. Now, you may have noticed that this time, I didn't specify the game's Android Port like I normally do on these devlogs. And that's for a good reason...
Guys... the truth is, I haven't been fully honest with all of you on the state of this game. There's something that I've had on my mind for a while regarding this game which I know is going to surprise a lot of you. So... here goes.
This game isn't getting an Android port.
It's getting something even better.
It's getting a whole ass update.

That's right, Headspace Night is getting a major update with more characters! Don't worry, by the way, the game is still getting an Android port, but the update will take priority for now.
So, how is this gonna work? So, you know Rogue-Like Mode, right? That bonus mode that kinda just adds in a random ass character out of nowhere? Well, Miku and the gang will not be alone! There will be five additional rogue-like only characters in the mode that you can find!
Well... they aren't necessarily rogue-like only anymore.
As you've in no doubt noticed, those locked icons are in the menu. Essentially, every rogue-like character can be unlocked by beating a rogue-like night with them on! This should hopefully give Rogue-Like mode a bit more purpose and also just make it more fun in general!
Well... all the rogue-like characters except for one, but... you'll see when it's time.
In any case, for those in the back worried about the game's OG max modes, don't worry! Headspace Emissary and My Time will still be counted as max modes, but the two new max modes with all the rogue-like characters will simply be new additions!
I otherwise don't plan to add any additional content to this game aside from the new rogue-like additions. Obviously, I'll try to polish the update as much as possible, but this will most likely be the last hoorah of Headspace Night!
Oh, and for those wondering about the rogue-like max mode with Encore Mode on, the one and only OMORI goober @Emi_Lives_Alone
is taking on the helm of verifying it, and she's already pretty dang close to as well! So please go and shower her with support, cause she absolutely deserves all of it!
And finally, before we close this devlog, a message from the goober herself:
"Heyo. Emi_Lives_Alone here, i wanted to send a message to all of you guys who are probably thinking "HOLY CRAP EMI WHAT THE HELL" or "have you lost your mind" or whatnot, on this day, it's been exactly 90 days since i've been playing this (there are less hours overall though, i haven't had TOO MUCH time to play and a few save-file mishaps have occurred, along side MANY. mindblocks and emotionally difficulties). This mode is unbelievably hard (for those in the know, i think it's maybe barely easier than Eternal Misery at best) and even 90 days in i don't think it's happening anytime soon, i ask you to please be patient and if you can reach out to me and give me any kind of supporting message it would help a lot, as i'm doing all of this for you guys, much love, and take care"
Expect some more posts on the game page revealing a bit more about the update and the new characters pretty soon. But until then...

Red Space awaits...
