Greetings, my corny little Underfell darlings! HAPPY PRIDE MONTH!! Can you all believe we’re already halfway through the year? Can you guys also believe that DELTARUNE Chapter 5 is coming SUPER FRICKING SOON?! I am speechless myself!
Exceptionally, this month’s devlog isn’t written by Badger, project director of our fangame, as you all know already, but by me, Sandrine Dans Lalune. Sardine Sans Deltarune. Sabine Dance Laboob? In any case, howdy! I’m Sandrine, a colorful little worm who just happens to be a concept artist for this rad project of ours. You might have seen some of my work in previous devlogs… or not. Still, nice to meet you all for those who were never aware of my existence! : D
Without revealing many details, May was a very stressful month for the whole team. We are still recovering from past mishaps and whatnot, it hasn’t been easy. To add, some of our team members are currently doing their finals and/or are overall very busy at the moment. Productivity isn’t as fast as Sonic, is what I’m trying to say.
However, fret not, we are okay and feel particularly determined to keep going during this month. Maybe it’s because it’s Pride Month, or maybe it’s thanks to Deltarune’s exciting news. Nevertheless, June’s Sun is shining on us, fulfilling us with positive energy and renewed hopes (and dreams. Sorry, I HAD to make this reference).
Now, my little rainbow corns, are you ready to learn about actual progress we have made? Buckle up, because I have great news; the last area of the demo (the schoolhouse) is almost fully built, art wise! All that’s left to do is add a few extra textures, rooms, and then top it all with a cute lil’ bow and a cherry. This is great news : 3 Concept art wise, we already have material for future areas of the game, it’s only a matter of time before you all get a few extra sneak peeks of them… mwahaha.
Programming wise, we are near completion as well. Only a few more somewhat laborious tasks currently remain on our to-do list. In other words, progress is going smoothly at a healthy pace in the programming department.
Writing wise, the more forgiving paths you may choose in the game are fully forged and only need to be implemented in the programming. A certain path of destruction is still aching to be finished in the script, yet it feels as if it might come to fruition faster than expected.
Music wise, we are adding extra pizzazz to a few of our songs in the OST, though nothing too crazy. Things are going well in this department as well!
Now, I know it’s becoming a redundant sentence to read at nearly every devlog, but the demo is coming along nicely, and may be finished soon. It is transforming itself into a nearly complete vessel. All that is left for us is to give it its remaining flesh, and give it back the soul and mind we’ve been forging for it. Maybe it will be able to meet you all in… three, four months from now on? This isn’t a promise, simply an estimation on my part.

In all sincerity, thank you all so much for your patience. I know it isn’t easy waiting for our Revival’s Underfell egg to hatch, and I want to show you my gratitude. From the bottom of my wormy little heart, being part of this project has been amazing. It has allowed me to get out of my artistic comfort zone, and has overall made me very happy. Thank you all for being such kind and passionate individuals, may you all have a wonderful rest of June, and may Deltarune’s next chapter lead us to yet another beautiful adventure.
