Labyr Alpha 1.1.9 and some changes.


Sorry for the long wait on this one. I was hoping to get more done and have it all polished and ready to go by Halloween this year and go for the 2.0 release but things ended up taking longer than expected. It’s probably going to be a good amount of time before I get the next updates out so I have decided to change the way I am releasing updates and will be putting everything into the standard Labyr Alpha build. The Unstable branch of builds will be back once the game is out of alpha and into beta. Enjoy all of the new features and bug fixes!

Labyr Alpha 1.1.9 has been released!

New Features

  • Added longsword.

  • Added fish gibs.

  • Added bat gibs.

  • Added leaf sounds.

  • Added apparitions with sounds.

  • Added new gas for the apparition creatures.

  • Added spiders with sounds.

  • Added webs for the spiders.

  • Added new maps and textures.

  • Added longsword pickup object.

  • Added ak47 pickup object.

  • Added copper coins with coin counter.

  • Added flamethrower with sounds.

  • Added flamethrower pickup object.

  • Added heat meter to the gui.

  • Added pumpkin Gron variation. (unimplemented)

  • Added new options in the pause menu.

  • Added Gates with sounds.

  • Added Box emitters that spawn one box at a time.

  • Added a simple swimming animation.

  • Added new ak47 sounds.

  • Added a flash of light when shooting the ak47.

  • Added a shovel.

  • Added air bubbles.

  • Added an ambient soundtrack that plays on all levels.

Changes

  • Both players now start with no weapons.

  • Players will now explode when they die.

  • Wolves now swim up in water.

  • Changed how the game handles hitboxes

  • Fixed bug that stopped the player from jumping out of water.

  • Gibs now lose health when being eaten by fish.

  • Lowered the distance that fish will attack gibs from.

  • Changed the map textures.

  • Fixed an issue with objects in different locations playing the same sound.

  • Fixed an issue that caused lights and enemies to activate through walls.

  • Fixed a crash caused by box parts not having declared the wet variable.

  • Updated code for all bullet collisions.

  • Changed how smoke and gas particles work to reduce lag more efficiently.

  • Fixed a bug that caused heat sources to be way too hot if there were less than 15 sources.

  • Fixed a bug that caused the player to be stuck in the grab_large state.

  • Fixed a bug that caused floating objects to slowly fall down over time.

  • Modified how gases work to be smoother and more responsive.

  • Wolves can now break destructible walls.

  • Blobs can now break destructible walls.

  • Skulls can now break destructible walls.

  • Wolves will now be able to climb over walls to get to the player.

  • Fixed a bug that caused damage numbers to not move towards the player sometimes.

  • Destructible walls are now less laggy and break easier.

  • Fixed a bug that caused the game to flicker and draw incorrectly.
