Late Start, No Finish (Yet)

I got a late start to Stencyl Jam 17, but I figured I’d at least try to learn Stencyl a bit and give it a go. Very interesting tool with lots of potential. I originally was going to make a top-down RPG-ish thing about how hard it must be for a homeless person to stay warm (it was recently ~9 degrees F here in Boston), but then I decided to have the player be on the same level as the protagonist, so it’s a side-scrolling adventure thing now. Well, actually this is really more of a tech demo, as it took me a while to figure out how to do an infinitely looping world and get the snow effect to work properly.

Shoobies leave a sticky trail of mucus in their wake, which can impede movement for any creature that steps in it.
