We have added the support of a new type of reflections in the game. They’re called “Screen Space Reflections”, or SSR. They will be optional and require the change of light rendering, that will make the entire game look a little bit differently.
Despite that they need a lot of resources, they look really nice.
There is also the news about optimization in the game, for it definitely became better. We mean, a lot better. During the last week we have tested approximately 5-6 game builds using different settings and improvements.
To put it all in a nutshell, the quality of textures influences the performance much less now as they load as long as you’re moving (thanks to Unity).
Also due to some special tricks we got a huge performance improvement in Teletubby land.
For example, with NVIDIA GTS450 framerate on a PC has increased from 25 to 35-40.
On another PC with AMD RX550 the amount of frames per second has increased from 30 to 50, and even 70 on some locations. Near of Teletubbies’ house it has even got 100.
(Ambient Occlusion and VSync were turned off in both cases)
Of course we still have a lot of work to do, but the stuff we’ve made is already cool!
