Let There Be Light! A new look for Jennifer Wilde: Unlikely Revolutionaries.

Development Update

Maura McHugh continues to work on the dialogue script, giving voice to Jennifer and Oscar’s witty repertoire.

Maura will be attending World Con in Dublin this month, and launching her story collection, The Boughs Withered. You can also pre-order the book if you in the mood for a bit of horror and dark fantasy.

Let there be light!

As Maura scripts, we were able to play around with the final look of the game scenes. Our original plan was to keep a purely hand-drawn look to the environments, but after a few lighting experiments, and feedback from backers on Twitter and Discord, we added a few lights to the game, to really ramp up the pulpy noir feel.

Here’s a look at how the loft scene looks before and after the lighting.

The community felt that the lights really helped with depth perception and clarity of layers, and we could only agree. It’ll take a little bit of extra time to work in a lighting pass on the game, but we think it will be worth it.

Let us know what you think!
