Hey guys! I hope you enjoyed and are still enjoying my game. This was my first entry into a gamejam, but it definitely won’t be my last! There was a lot that I learned during this process, such as DO NOT make a game breaking change without testing before you upload! This mistake was the brightness… (Ugh) I didn’t notice, as I have a very bright monitor, so sorry for that. Overall, this was a great experience for me. Thank you to everyone who Voted and Played! Thank you for everyone who tuned into the Twitch Livestream! Below I’ve got some last features that I’ve added before forever shelving this game:
(Note: The original game made during the 72 hour time period of Dreamhack Jam will always be available as a package.)
Flashlight (Adjustable Brightness)! You can hold “space” on your keyboard to increase the screen’s brightness. (Now it’s actually playable on dark screens.) However, you’re immobile during this “charging” process, and the darkness will eventually creep onto the screen…
“Dream Hack” Easter egg! Type “dreamhack” on the menu screen to attach a special paintball-like Trail and Skin to your guns! (Looks especially cool with the machine gun.)
Game Sources! Now, included with the game, enjoy a .gmx project file documenting all my code, as well as some commented details throughout. Read it and let me know what you think. (Was there anything that I could have done more efficiently or better?) Or you could use it to learn. I’d highly encourage anyone to join a jam, it was such a blast! Additionally, you can find all original Art Assets (Some unused), and see the Thought & Development Process that went into developing this Hackdream Jam game.
(Along with some other quality-of-life changes)
Thank You. I will be attempting Ludum Dare 40 in December, but until then, keep on the lookout for some future projects of mine :)
