Happy April everyone!
I’ve addressed some of the issues we’ve discovered through your generous comments and playtests.
What’s fixed:
Web fonts load now so the game better resembles what it is intended to be.
The difficulty curve is a little easier now. What used to be level 4 is now level 2, and the mechanic of escorting the squares around doesn’t appear until level 3.
The “hit” particle effect is black now to better communicate that you are hitting the solid walls and not chipping away at the enemy.
An HTML build has been added to allow people to play without downloading. This should help Mac users who haven’t been able to download the game. Updated Windows and Linux versions will be added within the week.
What’s not fixed/added yet
Keyboard controls - this will eventually happen, but for now the game is controller only
An offline Mac build - Construct 2 doesn’t make getting a build that loads properly on a Mac very easy. I’d have to do some network wizardry to export it right. For now the HTML build should work.
The alignment of certain font pieces isn’t perfect. It’s not unreadable, but it also doesn’t have the exact measurements of the mimiced art style. I’ll try to work on this later on when I add keyboard controls.
In other news - the Atelier Games project, which Lissitzky’s Revenge is a part of, has been accepted into the Blank Arcade at the Digital Games Research Association (DiGRA) 2015 conference in Luneberg, Germany! (http://projects.digital-cultures.net/digra2015/) I’ll also be submitting it for consideration in Baltimore’s Artscape game expo, Gamescape so hopefully we’ll be exhibiting there as well.
Lastly, we’ll be starting on the next Atelier Game soon, so look for an upcoming article on that!
