Deep beneath the broken earth of the Mountains of Fire, there exists a subterranean realm where amber crystalline growths, fungal forests, ancient Dwarven roads, lava-rivers, and long-abandoned mines await intrepid explorers. It is a perilous world full of secrets, wrapped in near-boundless gloom, and it leads every which way one can imagine. And yet, dear traveler, these things are not all that await interlopers.

Every once in a while, a peculiar – and in this case, menacing – structure comes into view. One not borne of Xeryn’s Third Age, but in fact fairly newly constructed. Here, glowing mushroom caps reveal a fortress in the gloom, one whose domed top is famous in this region, at least for those who cower beneath its watchful gaze. Below the fastness, one finds a simple dock with sleek riverboats, and tranquil dark waters that disappear into the distance.

But what is it, and who does it belong to? Today we can answer that question only in part: it is a wayward colony and it was built by Dark Elves of the Faergal Clan.

To learn more about these Elves for yourself, you will have to go there. Most do not dare to tread in their territory, yet among an underground full of peculiar denizens and strange places, one could almost say that they don’t stand out – almost.

And with that, we must depart forthwith. For the journey of a certain expedition does not end here, and there is still much to be done in the telling. Thus, do as you always do: stay safe, stay awesome, and conquer the wasteland!
