Another month by, another progress up- Wait, February is already over!? Who decided to make it so short anyway!?
Ahem. Anyways. Let’s get to that progress update. Here’s where we are in-game right now:
As you can see, Area 1 is nearing completion. The finishing touches on HorrorVale Heights are being done now, then onto the next segment of the Area. We won’t be sharing screenshots of the next section here or anywhere else since I want it to be a surprise, so please look forward to exploring it in Demo 2 in April!
But I can give some sneak peeks of HorrorVale Heights:
HorrorVale Heights is a place where you can meet all sorts of strange individuals. Mayor Finklestein is well known for digging up bodies and stitching them together to make his own brand of undead known as Frankenlings. In the caves of HorrorVale Heights you’ll find all the rejects and failed experiments. Most of them will want to fight you, but these guys have put together a nice little village.
Wait… What’s Jiang doing there!?
We’ve also done a few minor additions, such as some enemies respawning elsewhere as friendly NPCs after defeating them. Obviously this will only apply to “Unique” enemies.
Alice’s room has also seen some much needed additions. Previously it felt just a tad too bare for a teenage girl’s room!
You’ll also find that there’s now a death animation for when defeating enemies as their body turns to ash and their spirit floats away to their respawn point. I wonder what happens if you kill a Creepy…? (Ignore the second Alice, she’s just there for testing)
A Netherling has also been added to Skeleton Manor to introduce them to you, wonder what this mischievous guy is up to!?
We’ve also continued to get more and more Patreon sponsored Party Member characters. We’re now up to SEVEN.
Jack, Scotty, Rosette, Fluch, Mizure, Kris/Tahner, and Wendy will all be joining HorrorVale!
I wonder who the last 3 will be…?
