March Personal Dev Log:
Late Devuary Q&A Part 1

Hello everyone! Sorry for the lack of news recently. I've been busy with my studies, and because of that, I couldn't work much on the game, which is why this post is just going to be dedicated to answering Devuary Questions, a set of 28 questions in total about Game Dev and other things, but just for simplicity, I'll only do the 1st 14 questions for now. With that out of the way, let us begin:

1. Q: Why did you start making games?
A: Mainly because of Five Nights At Freddy's, as I liked the gameplay a lot...well the classic FNaF games that is (1-UCN)

2. Q: What was the 1st game you ever made?
A: Well it technically doesn't count as one, but it was a remixed game on scratch called Five Nights At Sonic's 5 Fan game: Virus Edition. Don't look into it, it's literally just the same game but the characters are mutated (I'm surprised there's like 9 games in that series-)

3. Q: What game made you want to be a Dev?
A: FNaF, but some inspiration was also from FNaW (Five Nights At Wario's), a Fan game of FNaF.

4. Q: How did you learn Game Dev?
A: It was during 6th grade when I was introduced to Scratch, and ever since then I've been using it.

5. Q: What keeps you making games when it gets tough?
A: My passion, I always wanted to make a FNaF fan game, and I don't want that idea to die slowly, so no matter what situation I'm in, I press on, doing everything I can so eventually my idea can become a reality.

6. Q: What Dev habit helps you the most?
A: Saving Often and focusing on little things first. If I focus on the bigger ideas now, it leads to me not only slowly gaining burnout, but also stressing over something that can't be completed yet.

7. Q: What bad Dev habit did you quit?
A: Planning way to early. There was so many features I had in mind for Frights of the Facility that I had to cut out because either it is too complicated or it's just almost impossible with my experience of coding.

8. Q: What engine are you using in your current game?
A: Scratch.

9. Q: What's your favorite part of Game Dev?
A: Being able to build something that I always wanted to make. There was always so many things I wanted to make as a Kid, and now it could eventually come true.

10. Q: How do you plan a Gave Dev Project?
A: Well there are 3 factors that I think of when it comes to making a game: The Gameplay, The Experience, and The Feedback. If I keep these Factors in mind I could potentially be able to make at least a good game.

11. Q: What Tool/Plugin saves you the most time in Game Dev?
A: Scratch Add-ons, as it gives me so many shortcuts and easier methods with doing certain actions.

12. Q: What feature took way more work than you expected?
A: Implementing the Defenses for Frights of the Facility. It was simple as, having a door and a few buttons. But now we have a bunch more mechanics I wanted to Implement, since the current mechanics and limitations kinda make the gameplay boring.

13. Q: How do you know when a Game is ready to ship?
A: If everything is working, The testers (if any) say that the game is good but might need a few tweaks, and a little bit of Glue and Duct Tape keeps the code in check.

14. Q: What's the biggest dev mistake you've made?
A: Not Saving my progress. Whatever I'm working on something, rarely at some times I forget to save, and when I do, I lose most of my progress, which leads to me having to redo them all over again.

Well that is the half-way mark of the questions. I'll make a Part 2 soon when I have the time. Until then, I hope everyone has a Faz-errific Day!

P.S: I need a new Catchphrase than just using "Faz-errific" unless if people are fine with it-

Sorry if I haven't been giving out some news in a while, I've been stuck with doing school. School can be annoying at some times.

This is what happens when you let a man (aka me) who has 0 knowledge of coding code a AI and move-set for a character-

I keep forgetting to do many quests that I actually want to do. So I'm a do this quest real quick. #GameJoltColors25 (Repost because I forgot to put it in the Art Realm)
