Mars Rider: 5 builds later


Just updated Mars Rider. Still a veeery simple game (it was a weekend project, after all), but here’s what we got now:

  • Control w. arrows (left/right to move, up to jump, down to fire)

  • Rocks coming at ya! Jump or shoot to avoid.

  • UFOs coming at ya! Shoot 5 times to kill.

  • UFOs will shoot at you, once past the half way mark on the screen.

  • You can get hit 3 times by rocks or shots. Then game over.

  • Original graphics, sound effects and music!

  • Obligatory high score on main menu.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)
