Hey guys. We haven’t put up a devlog in a while. We’ve been pretty busy with school, sorry. BUT. We have a massive announcement to make!
We are moving development of Outer Realm from Unity to Unreal Engine. We’re doing this because we found that with the way we wanted to make Outer Realm, Unity just wasn’t gonna cut it. Like I said, before, this game is a very ambitious project, and our big ideas just wont be able to be used if we use Unity. So we’re now making it on Unreal.
Soon, we will be releasing a pre-demo build, which will be basically the introduction to the game. (on Unity) You’ll see why we changed engines when you play it: the intro is kinda edgy with the movement. But that’ll be much better on Unreal. This build will be big, because it will be the first look at the real game, (but not as beautiful obviously) as our previous builds were just testing and getting everything working.
Thanks so much for your patience with this game. We said before that we were hoping to release the game sometime in 2018, but tbh, it might actually take just a little longer than that, seeing as how Davo$waggo now needs to get used to developing in Unreal. We’re really sorry for this delay, but trust us, the game is gonna be a LOT better now that we’ve changed engines.
Thanks for reading, sorry for the inactivity, and as always, Stay Awesome!
