When living outside of Tornado Alley, you don’t think about tornadoes that often, other than that was the time Reed Timmer and all these storm chaser were out and uploading all these storms happening across the country.
My mom always talked about the tornado that almost hit her high school but tornadoes where rare where she lived, and in the end, it wasn’t as bad as it could have been.
Lil update on what’s happening now, I taking a quick restroom break while thunder is rolling through and my cat is very scared (her tail is down but not under her legs). My house is really quick rn cause all the shows have been paused but that’s what terrifying to me rn so I’m probably gonna put something on really soon.
The tornadoes that have been through here have happened and they have been really bad. My side of town doesn’t have tornado warnings so that’s a bit scary but we’re also not known for being a tornado magnet. The only time someone has talked about a tornado hitting here was when we bought a house and they said “a tornado came through her a while ago. Ripped off shingles but that’s about it.
I thought that was cool but my mom and dad were like “let’s not try and have a tornado hit our house while we’re still paying off the mortgage.”
Now, also because it’s tornado season and we’re in an enhanced area of storm developement, I’m pacing my house, heart beating trying not to freak out and scare myself with things like “what if a tornado hits? What if a hail storm comes through?” Etc, etc. I definitely got the anxiety part of my mom’s genes 😭.
We’re not in a severe thunderstorm warning, No tornado watch, but I’m just on edge rn
