Meet the police department

Right in the heart of the central quarter lies the police station, if you need to go there it might mean bad news for you.

With most of the population trying to keep their distance and only a tiny portion praising their work, police agents aren’t the most beloved group in the city. Of course, who could blame them? After all, these are dark times and keeping things calm is a hard and dangerous job.

Is for that very reason that you shouldn’t be surprised when you enter the building and find a bar with dozens of bottles piled behind it, these public servants need a place to rest and recover from their patrols. Oh! That? Indeed, it’s a pool table, one of the small perks of defending the law.

At the end of the hall, you’ll find two stairs, the one on the left… … let’s just start with the other one. Those stairs will take you to the upper floor, where inspectors have their desks and archives.

There’s one desk that stands over the rest, it belongs to no other than inspector August Thompson, the most recognizable face in this department. He is a loyal arm, eager to follow the mayor’s instructions and always looking after those he considers rightful citizens. He has a reputation for being quite direct and, sometimes, even brutal. Then again, one must be firm if they are to last in this job.

He also has a grudge against that poor kid who goes around selling papers. Nobody knows how that started, but they seem to hate each other and, the fact that the other is a kid, won’t stop August from using his baton.

But that’s enough talk about the inspector. Going back to the hall, we did leave one of the stairs for later.

Those stairs lead to the dungeon, a place nobody in the city wants to visit. The ones that come here may never leave and, if they do, marks on their bodies will remind them of their time there. Definitely not a nice place, but respectful citizens like yourself should fear nothing. Only criminals and agitators end up in here. Be sure to follow the law and everything will be fine.

And that’s all for today! We’ll be back in two weeks, but remember to join our Discord server to chat with us, we’re always around answering questions about the game!
