This will be my first game on GameJolt, so hello everybody!
4:11am local time
I came up with the premise for this one a few days before the jam started. The basic idea is an endless runner with bow and arrow mechanics. So for example you could shoot things out of the way instead of just having to jump/avoid them. Heavily inspired by a flash game called Leo Steel.
On the Wednesday before the jam began I sat down and made the arrow physics early. This is because I would be at school for most of Friday and have work on Saturday morning, so I figured this would help me not be so disadvantaged.
Day 1 was largely dedicated to getting the whole thing up and running. All basic game features including the flow from main menu to game over. Lots of temp art.
Day 2, which for me is now coming to a close has been dedicated to content development. I managed to make only 4 levels but hopefully they’re hard and frustrating enough for everyone to get some mileage out of them.
I also just finished making the main theme song! It’s sounding pretty awesome. I was planning on having different music for when you’re actually playing but i’m no sure that’s going to work out. I might just make some sort of quick loop for the actual gameplay. Not 100% sure yet.
Interestingly, pretty much all of the art is looking shit atm. I’ve told myself it’s mostly temp but I’m no artist. I have no idea how good I’ll be able to get the art to be by the deadline..
Uh, I should probably include some sort of art in this post. So here’s a screenshot:

See you at the other end!
