Migration from Photon Unity Networking to Nakama


Howdy, y'all! Rei here! I got some big (technical sided) news! CND will be using Nakama instead of the mostly used Photon Unity Networking.

PUN was the first engine that the game used from the start, to the present. However it's now time to find a new service, for certain reasons.

Nakama allows us, the developers, to host our own servers and implement more features that doesn't depend on third party services, such as account authentication and data storage with Game Jolt. It also allows you, the players, to join the server and not have to worry about reaching max capacity, since our previously dedicated hosted server only allows 20 players max.

This will take us, hopefully, a week or so to figure out and implement. Just wanted to get this out here!

Great news. Google Play Games is now supported for the next update. However, not every part of the Google Play Games functionalities will be implemented or utilized.

I will be switching from a self-hosted server to multiple servers in different regions! Each server will, unfortunately, have spots for 20 players max. Though, there'll be 8 servers available and players worldwide can join a server near them!

Time for a brand new logo lads !
