So yesterday I was trying to start the project and make Kirby's movement in Turbowarp (a Scratch mod), but all I could get working was the left/right movement and jump. I had the float coded but it was very buggy not working at all and always broke the jump after it was used
I don't think it's very sustainable for me to keep struggling with Turbowarp for months, so despite not having much real programming experience, I've decided to take a risk:
I'm going to try and learn Game Maker
I really want this fangame to come out well since I've been thinking about making it a while now, and the massive jump to 22 followers since I published the page yesterday is even more inspiration to push forwards with it since it seems this is something people are actually interested in.
And there's one more thing with that...
I know in the description I promised the following:
6 different game modes
Controller support
Gamejolt Achievements
Mobile support (maybe)
Different playable characters (maybe)
But I don't know what Game Maker is capable of...
So while I will do everything in my power to try and deliver on these promises with this new engine, I'm unsure at this point which ones I can fulfil
Thank you all for your support so far. It's really exciting to see the game rising up in followers so fast :)
