"Monthly" Devlog 6: Demo has been completed


Hello everybody, long time no see as I've been working on my game jam project, and thus was condensing all my effort onto that project. However, I got back to this one.

While this demo doesn't have everything I wanted (mainly art shit), I feel pretty satisficed with how it turned out. I can firmly say that this game has been one of the biggest projects I've ever worked on. The size is massive that's not what she said but I have been having fun turning through the bullshit to get my desired results. While I may have been frustrated at some points, it felt good to never cop out half way.

That being said, it's also not perfect. The room's don't have any decoration, the balance is probably atrocious, and many other issues. But I see this as a solid foundation, which will only get stronger after I do a rebuild of the game. While this may sound like I've gone fucking insane (which is a very really possibility), I'm going to rebuild the game mainly just to reorganize and changed some the skills and the like that I don't find appealing now. So that's the plans for the future, but what abouts what's the changes from the last build to this demo?

Here's a few lists:

Main features:

-Added the relevant sewer portions

-Added the way to get Redman and Beaver naturally

-Added all the CAMs

-Added all the enemies (with shitty artwork by your truly)

-Added a progressive system with the enemies and the CAMS (separate systems, but same general idea)

-Add a waterfall room in the left hallway

-Made the office accessible once all CAMs have been beaten (and a boss inside of it)

QoL:

-Fixed a few (not all) colors for text to help make it more readable

-Added unique sprites for all interactable objects (chests and levers)

-Scan and Swap are no longer useable on any other action besides the first, preventing fuckery

Balance:

-Weakened Kevin Jr.'s skills as he's a bitch to balance properly

And that's all I can remember at the moment (I'm very tired writing this). That's about all I got to say about the game at the moment. Like previously mentioned, I picked this day specifically as it's my birthday, so that's neat. I'm now a good 20 years old, meaning one more year before I can develop crippling alcoholism like a normal adult. With that, I'll be off. I'm going to continue working on my gamejam game as it's deadline was extended to the end of next month, so I'll keep working on that and share the news about that project when more shit gets done with it besides a vague sandbox to test shit.

I'll most likely do another post soon about a patch, but until than good bye!
