Out of Control: A Mid-2025 Gamejam Collection

My experience with the gamejam and hosting my 1st event:

Rough

&

Stressful...

But also

Fun

&

Amazing...

(Details for why...)

When I first came up with this idea in May, my friends @ElMasterTrolaster and @Short_Monqey noticed and when I asked them if they wanted to be a part of it, in which they said yes.

So, in June, I announced it with a couple of friends, prepping it and overall getting excited, making sure everything is ready such as setting up rules and details regarding it...

But in late June, when people started joining and joining by the masses, it began stressing me out. There was a lot of people and not enough moderators/judges.

So, I hired 7 judges. Molrcore, Asstro, Stresstown, Magi, Viib3n, Enzo, and Mehigh.

And even then, during the gamejam, there were three events that made the whole thing a lot harder for me.

The first event is the whole Matias Roger incident. People discovering them and calling them out made things rough, and I chose to finally abstain from drama when that happened.

The second event is when one of the teams decided to Bully another team, drawing images of the member harming themselves. I will not explain further.

The third event... it may not have been in the server per say but they were a team initially. But pretty much what happened... I'm still going through it. It hurts to talk about to this day, because having known a friend for three years wasn't your friend at all... it really, really hurts.

But there have been a lot of pleasant things.

I managed to bring a team together to create a MASTERPIECE of a driving simulator by accident.

I met and connected with so many new people, and reconnected with some old friends.

The undertale community got to see so many new games created, a whopping 21! Some of which I have yet to see or play!

There was so many amazing things to see

And at the end of it all, I got to make a new friend, I think.

Overall, I'm happy to be someone who had hosted this event.

I'm happy to have met each and every one of you.

So.

Let's make the next gamejam in December even better, ok?

Larger Prize Pool

1 Month of Work

Sign-ups to avoid further incident or drama

Better rule-set

And More.

By the way, some special thanks for people:

Thank you all.

You all mean a lot to me for this community.

So my last three hurrahs in the utc before I leave.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)
