Hi all,
I want to address my views on the controversy regarding Android ports for FNaF fangames in the community.
Personally my view point is that, I believe they are fine as it opens yourself up to a bigger audience. What is always a good idea as a developer, is to open up expanding to more audiences by porting your work to more devices, such as Android, iOS, and HTML5.
While this may seem like a stupid thing to say, I can understand why some younger fans of mine may want Android ports of my work, as I believe it’s fine to open my work to more audiences by sharing it to different devices.
I wouldn’t bash people because they asked, because simply it would be immature of me to do so. I might’ve back a few years ago, but personally if anything I think it’s a wonderful idea to expand your work to more audiences by porting to new devices.
To anyone who complains about people asking for Android ports, think about someone else’s perspective first. I’ve heard a lot of things from different people complaining about Android ports, and it’s mostly due to it’s high demand, primarily because some of those people’s audiences are people with only Android devices.
Not everyone can own a computer, so it’s always just a wise idea to port your work to more devices, just to expand your audience. I’ve been porting my games to Android primarily just to fulfill people’s demands, and I think it’s always fun to play stuff on the go.
I hope this gives you some insight on what I think on it, and thanks for reading my little post on it.
