New features revealed! | Status Devlog #10

Hello again and welcome to a new Status Devlog.
I hope you are all doing great this cold month. I am because I have something nice to show you so let’s start.

The new Helicopter Feature

So first off I was told that the Mac and Linux Versions of this game are not working. I have immediately fixed that and they will run in this next Game Update again!
Secondly I want to talk about a new feature in this game with you. I have made a little sneek peek post on Twitter and some of you have seen it.

The new Camera Helicopter Feature is almost finished. Remind that only the Pentum Stage got this feature. Every stage in the game will get it’s own special feature in the future which you can activate with the third DMX Controller inside of the Stage Control Tent. Let me show you:

Of course the Helicopter has it’s own HUD but there are things of which you might know their function.

This is the Helicopter HUD. Remind that it can be changed until it’s actual release date! In the middle of the screen you have a little dot crosshair to show the screen center.

The Helicopter HUD Indicator Lamps

The System Checker Lamp
This lamp is showing that everything is alright and working great. It turns off when it checks the system.

The Zoom Lamp
This bright blue lamp is showing that the camera is not zoomed in.

When the lamp is dark blue it means that the camera is zoomed in.

The Timer Lamp
This lamp flashes every second to show that the timer counts and is working correctly.

The Beacon Lights Lamp
This Lamp is showing that the beacon lights are working. It flashes in the same interval like the beacon lights of the helicopter.

The Timer
The Timer shows you how long the camera of the helicopter is active.

New Special Effects are coming!

There are two new cool special effects arriving to the game. Fireworks and Confetti Cannons. The Fireworks are still work in progress but I can already show you the Confetti Cannons.

Both stages will have Confetti Cannons which you can emit via the U key but just the Pentum Stage will get the Fireworks. That’s because the Emblyn Stage is way to small for that. Also I’ve changed some keys. You can now activate all special effects in a key row:

As you can see all important Stage functions are sorted in a key row to keep the controls as simple as possible.

The new Stage

I have now everything I need to start building the new stage for the game. But I will not do that this year. Early in 2018 I will begin with this project. More informations about the stage name and the location coming in the next Status Devlog!

Now that my fingers are bleeding from typing I hope you enjoy this endless devlog full of news about the upcoming things.
Oh and thanks to the follower 90e7d3 for suggesting the Confetti Cannons! :)
The next Status Devlog is coming on 24th of December!
Have a great day!

Explosive domino effect

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
