I’m working on my second game. Unlike the first one, which was done in Construct 2, this one is being made in Unity. Unfortunately, Unity requires a lot of scripting, which tends to send my brain into a thermonuclear meltdown, so I’m going to try to avoid having to manually script it. Fortunately, there are visual scripting packages for it, which should keep things slightly easier. It’s just a matter of learning them.
Anyway, the new game will be called Runaway, about a kid named Norf who runs away from home. Norf and his family are from my failed attempt at making an animated, full-length movie. Since I still had the models, I thought I’d put them to use in a game.
Today, I had to cut back on the number of terrains that I had next to each other to form one big terrain because they were apparently making Unity not want to keep their positions aligned with the day/night system’s sky globe. I would’ve just used one big terrain, but I tried that in another project, but the player ended up falling through the terrain at one point, so I didn’t want to risk it. I’m not sure why it happened, but I suspect it had something to do with vertex spacing.
Also, I added several trees to the start terrain. They don’t have colliders attached, because those tend to bog Unity down, if you use a lot of them, so there’s nothing stopping you from walking through the trees. They’re just there for visual effect anyway.

I tried to add actual grass, but I’m going to have to tweak the grass settings before I do that.
