Hey ya!
It's been a while. I want to talk about what's been happening with New Royals and the fan-comic it's adapted from, Fallen Royalty.
I'll save you all a lengthy explanation, the TLDR; of it is that I had technical issues, major life events, and another project that became a bigger focus.
New Royals was originally an experiment and then a way of making the side stories playable. But I've now changed my mind.
Fallen Royalty originated as an askblog on tumblr, where the story wasn't treated very seriously. I then spent a good couple years redrawing the comic to fix some story holes... but over time I started treating it as a reboot.
But the problem is that you can't make something a reboot if you've spent the first chapter as a faithful remake. Instead of further confusing things, I decided to tell this story fresh from a clean slate. Core aspects of the story will remain the same, while others won't. At the heart, it'll be the same: a story about family and second chances at life.
I'm excited for what can become of this story. I want this to be the final and absolute version. As a visual novel I hope to make my comic come to life.

We are currently looking for only musicians and writers, but if you feel you have something valuable to add to the team please apply regardless.
If you need a better understanding of this project before you'd like to apply, feel free to send questions. In the meantime, I will now explain some more specifics.
Gameplay
It'll have a blend of overworld and cutscenes. Most likely, there will be little to no combat outside the starting battle. You'll then get to navigate around as either Frisk or Chara, depending on who you have as active.
(Mock-up of planned UI. Art is in-game)
I do plan on having minigames and narrative-specific battles.
Story
After the Asriel God of Hyper Death battle, you'll find there's been quite the shake-up to the Underground. The fallen have been mysteriously brought back to life in their bodies.
You'll then follow these kids as they handle life post-resurrection as they navigate their new lives.
Thank you for reading! Hope to see you again next year.
