That's right, an animated series. It's going to be sprite-animated with hand-drawn segments. This is a big change, but I know it's for the best!

Hey everyone, I know it's been a while! I know coming back with this news can be scary but I want to assure you this project isn't dead. It's only on hiatus.
Here's what's happened: I started Angel's Lullaby with the intent to tell a story. But when I started, it was just me. Game development was an exciting opportunity to try everything I loved with games, believing I could make something never done before in the Undertale fandom.
Well. To put it lightly I was in over my head. I didn't understand the medium of games at all. I started with Ren'py, a visual novel software but I wanted sprite art to navigate it. RPG Maker was a step up but was limiting. I had to learn actual code to make it, but I didn't see myself as a game developer until I started researching and creating games myself. Over 3 years, I feel I understand what I'm doing now.
And Angel's was overly ambitious and unrealistic. It's the classic starter's dream game syndrome. I wanted the game to be a mix of Zelda and Undertale and a Rythm Game all at once. Not great for someone's first project, I'll say that!
What am I making now?
So I took a break and started Nightfell.
It's my loose UNDERFELL adaption fangame. It's a mix of horror and Undertale comedy adventure.
The scope is reasonably big but more realistic than Angel's had ever been. Nightfell's scope is Undertale's Pacifist route's length.
Sorry to advertise it here, but I want to be clear. I still have a passion for making video games and it's an exciting medium to work in. It challenges and inspires me in ways that comic making and animation can't do from the nature of its interactivity.
If you want to see what I can do with an Undertale fangame, Nightfell is your best bet.
If you're interested in Angel's for its graphics and storytelling, then please stick around for Angel's Lullaby's return as an animation. This is a story I very much need to tell, and having it condensed into a singular experience is the best and only way it can be done. I love this project. I love this world we've built. I want to see it realized someday properly.
So what does this mean for now?
Angel's is on a semi-hiatus. I need to focus on NightFell first. But Angel's also needs to have a "Reboot" with its story to match the new medium and scope. That's going to take time before we can start production. Once Nightfell's demo is released, I plan on diving head-first into Angel's Lullaby.
I can't give out details yet. Angel's has only now made this change official. But in my ideal world, if I can acquire the team for it, I would love to incorporate voice acting and gameplay segments. We'll see, it's much too early to know!
I hope you all can understand and embrace this change. UnderEvent and this community have been amazing to me, you've all pushed me forward and I am so so thankful for everything. I want nothing more than to make something I can be proud of here. Thank you all and see you next devlog!
