Decided to put up the current revision of Black Shadow I have going on the sidelines. Demo on the page, quick play available.
The entire world is being redone, using standard sized maps for each room instead of various sized ones. That was causing problems before in the design aspect.
Currently this demo on leads up to the first boss battle, which has also been given a little overhual.
Some changes were made to improve speed, combining drawing and removing the drop shadow and alphablending that was used on many sprites with minimal difference in the look.
Hopefully these and other changes will improve overall speed, as testing on a netbook shows better performance than previous builds.
Collisions have been readjusted and hopefully work better.
Let me know how it handles.
One bug that has popped up is that enemies go to their attack animation once the level starts, don’t know why this happened yet.
Resolution change is gone, now full screen doesn’t change resolution at all, stays in proper aspect ratio.
Still more things to do, but mostly level creation when I need a break from coding The Crawl.
