New stuff, area and rain.

Hey guys,

I’ve finally managed to make an update for 1986, below you’ll find the most important features.

  • Street.
I’ve added a street area, you can explore it (even if it is quit small and empty) and go to the metro.

  • UI system.
When you look at an interactive object, a box, the name and the key to interact with it is displayed on top of it (Deus Ex/System Shock 2 style).
I’ve updated the help menu, added keycode (not used yet), and a scrolling panel to read notes.

  • Notes.
One of the things I loved in game such as Deus Ex, System Schock 2 and some others, are the pieces of paper you can find in the world to tell you about the background. So I’ve decided to add this to 1986. You can find one in the street area.

  • Rain.
Rain is important in 1986, so I’ve started to work on some cool shaders for it. Basically, the shaders allow me to have, vertex painted puddles, rain drop effect and I can use a script to control how much wet I want in the level. Later I’ll add more effects such as rain fall on walls.

Of course I’ve also worked on textures and changed things here and there but that’s pretty much of it for now.

Hope you’ll like it!
