Next Major Update Announcement
Next major update (v2) will not be a story update that will include Wastelands in it. The update will add multiple gameplay features and other sweets.
⭐ Better Simulations
Since Simulations are the only place where you can grind for loot - of course it will need to be somewhat changed and upgraded every major update to not make it boring for players.
Specifically in v2 - you will be already able to customize how hard your Simulations will be. You can nerf or buff them - however, by doing so you either increase or decrease your rewards.
Because of that, everyone will have their own way of playing Simulations, which means that current Gamejolt scoreboard will not be fair. That's why it'll be changed from "Highest wave" to "Highest score". The harder your Simulation is the more score you receive from it.
⭐ Customizations
You all have seen customization boxes, but you never got them. How weird is that? The reason for that is that they are actually not implemented yet.
v2 will bring to you cursor customizations, such as Trails; Particles; Glows and even Skins.
Looking back at Clickertale 2 - those customizations were lame. However, in CT3 they will be actually programmed to be what they are supposed to be.

⭐ Challenge Mode
And the best for last! Challenge mode is a test of your skill. It can be accessed from any difficulty - from Casual to Extreme. In this mode your stats are set to specific values and you are unable to use items. Only skill can help you there!
After beating a level and completing a specific task - you will unlock this level's challenge mode.
Challenge mode can significantly increase the difficulty of level or completely change how it feels. Of course, the coolest changes will happen on boss levels.
Beating levels on challenge mode is completely optional, the only reward for that is customizations. Beating a boss on challenge mode rewards you with a customization themed with that same boss. Beating all levels in area on challenge mode rewards you with a customization themed with that same area.
Also, your level turns purple after beating it's challenge.
⭐ But that's not it!
There are several little details that will be added with v2. Several "quality of life" improvements, map badges, enemy attack synergies and more!
When?
Hard to tell, but not 2 years that's for sure. This update does not seem to be insanely big. Perhaps a couple months and it will be released!

Fixed some UI inconveniences.
Fixed some items breaking Simulation Monster HP calculations - making them too weak.
Fixed cursor getting stuck in platforms on one of the bosses.
Fixed little souls on Hub deleting themselves, making you receive less LV.
Possibly fixed little souls flying around the LV Storage if your CPS is too high.
