Now what?

Now that Kill2Kill alpha is out for over 3 months, it’s time for the next steps. I reckon this is the ‘grand plan’ for now:

  1. I will rebuild Kill2Kill from the ground up in a new engine. The engine is called Unity3D. The main reason for this is that Unity3D allows me to port the game easily to PC, MAC, Linux, and any console I choose. Another reason is that the engine I’ve used for the alpha (XNA) is simply put… dead.

  2. I’m strongly considering leaving the local multi-player path and taking the single-player one, with optional 2 player co-op. From the data I gathered I can see that for a very large part the game is played with only 1 player. Besides, single-player games are easier to test and develop, but most importantly, I have some cool ideas for single-player and I feel a strong urge to try them out :)

What do you think about this? Would you want Kill2Kill to be a local-multiplayer party game?

Btw, if anyone is interested in the data I gathered from the alpha, you can view it here:
