Just a quick devlog today to highlight a couple of exciting pieces coming up in the world of JumpDudes!
Release of v0.1.17
Thats right! Its come around quick, but we have released version v0.1.17 as of today!
This release really only introduces technical improvements and performance optimisations on both the server and the client in preparation for our next announcement...
New Server!
Hell yeah! With the release of v0.1.17 we have set up a brand new server to allow for another round of play-testing. This time, its available to anyone and everyone on our discord server. 🥳
While our discord server is very small at the moment, we have some brilliant members of the community; both technically and creatively - and they are giving us great feedback to continue improving the game. Its great to see we have finally put it in their hands to see how it feels.
The provider we have gone with offered a range of server options, and we opted for something very small on this occasion. This should help keep prices down, but also force us into finding any performance and scalability issues early. While we had fears this was a risky move and may result in a low quality experience, we have been delighted to discover that its holding together strong, and been up for hours and hours without any issues.
As a heads up, this new server will only exist for a month. So if you blink, you may well miss it!
If you want to get involved and check out JumpDudes now, make sure to visit us in the discord server ASAP. We have no issues giving people access at this point, but we do need to carefully monitor for any signs that the server is being overloaded.
