I'd like to start off this devlog by saying progress has been going really well.
You probably saw the act 1 preview that I posted a little over a week ago, if you didn't, take a look!

Here you can see the new, greatly improved act 1 battle engine, based heavily off of Deltarune's.
We've gotten the basic cycle in it, you can fight, defend, and dodge so far, this is what it looks like:

This is just for testing the dummy won't attack you-
I'm really happy with how it's turning out so far! (Everything is subject to change, of course.)
Now, for act 2, we don't have as much because I've been focusing on the new act 1 stuff, there is one thing, though. The background being used in act 2 has changed a lot, and I wanted to get a feel of which is most liked. There's a poll on this post if you feel like giving some input.
Option 1, Bone background:

There hasn't been much progress on act 3 other than the main sprite being completed:

Other than that, nothing has really been done in terms of act 3, which is fine, I'll probably wait until everything else is mostly done before continuing work on act 3.
Right now, I'm quite happy with the way everything is going. I'm actually starting to look forward to working on this game again. I don't really have much to say other than that, so I'll end the devlog on that note.
