Officially downgrading engine to Raycasting Game Maker (with screenshots)

I know Raycasting Game Maker was not super successful with my previous games. However, again, I really want to utilize the limited features of this engine in a creative manner to execute the psychological horror aspects of this game. I have confidence I will do things right this time around. There are a few sacrifices I have to make switching over to this engine, but the main things I want to achieve are definitely doable in this engine with some work arounds. Here are some screenshots of what the game looks like so far. Obviously with GZDoom Builder it looked better because I could actually make sectors and stack them on top of each other with dummy sectors to create objects and appliances throughout the map (see old screenshots in the earlier devlog to see how they compare). In RGM, I have to either make all the objects and appliances sprites that always face you or wall textures, so all of them lack depth, but again, limit pushing. The layout in the original version had very vague influences from my own house, but I decided to instead try and copy the house my grandma lived before she passed away into this map layout, since it gives me a reference to work off of, and my grandma's house was SUPER eerie in the night, especially in the basement. I am honestly impressed how well I was able to mimic its layout, despite the limitations. Obviously I am not copying it down from detail to detail, one because that's a lot of work, and two, again, lots of limitations, like the lack of depth in objects and the fact that RGM only allows you one texture for the floor, ceiling, and doors in each level, but I am getting the general layout and details of it in here.

And what better to celebrate this day than #Pecaminosa #OST? 🎷

Let us know what you think about it and have a great weekend!

Shoobies leave a sticky trail of mucus in their wake, which can impede movement for any creature that steps in it.

Hi everyone! I started to create some environment props for my new video game, here is a cozy house in the forest. I'm planning to switch from Unity to Unreal... Let's see what new challenges I have to face. Made in Blender and Substance Painter.

Terraria

I worked so hard to get all four of them to the end safely, but then...

My D&D art for my family so far (WIP if you couldn't tell)

Made my first ever animation.

I mostly build 3D First Person Shooter game mechanics in Unity, and in this I'm just showing C4 mechanics I made for a little side project I am working on! :)

Out of boredom and curiosity, I coded Sailor Jupiter's Argentine Backbreaker.
