Let me tell you about Kyomu Kara's origin.
So LittleGame had released pretty recently I think, and I wanted to expand. Specifically, I wanted the game's villain to appear in other content, and I had a plan.
I had a few things I was interested in doing. The first of which? Making an RPG that shows off another form of the AUTOCRAT (as depicted in other posts), in which form he possesses two eyes of new, human characters from another world.
But that idea wasn't very solid.
So while I got that idea together, the next thing I wanted to do was make an NES-style game. And I wanted to tease the upcoming face-off with the Autocrat's new form I was imagining. Sounds simple enough, right?
And actually, it was.
I love old consoles. I grew up on NES and SNES, and I studied the games I played hard. And so making sprites that fit the aesthetic was actually easier than I might have thought, and it was super fun too.
I had mentioned to @LinkIncGames that I was considering making a spinoff to LittleGame that expanded on the villain, but I initially wasn't going to go through with it for awhile as I wanted to focus on Outcasts.
But there was one thing that changed that.
Mana's 2D Horror Game Jam had just started its second round, the theme being trust. The jam started being a regular thing as soon as I started considering the spinoff, as if the universe itself was trying to tell me to do it.
So I needed a game about trust. Easy. King trusted some rock he found laying about that said it'd grant him power. Skipper's friend trusted him to rescue her after she was captured. It's very adaptable.
So I went through with it. I made the sprite sheets. I designed the levels. I made another game. I even teased the Autocrat's upcoming new design.
The menu theme was good, the whole atmosphere turned out well, I just had tons of fun with it. And I still do!
But there was another driving factor of the game.

KYOMU KARA WAS PROMISED A PLAYTHROUGH ON YOUTUBE.
I knew this was my chance to get LittleGame on the radar. I shot Mana a comment stating that Kyomu Kara was a spinoff and that it'd make more sense with prior knowledge of LittleGame. And Mana agreed to play both.
Things were lining up perfectly. The game was short enough to always have an end in sight, I was efficient, it was polished, a playthrough was laid out, I learned how to mimic the NES feel which is something I've ALWAYS wanted to do. Everything was-
Mana never played it.
ModdedMana committed to playing every game in the jam, and LittleGame and Kyomu Kara were never played, along with a handful of others.
I watched about half the jam get uploaded to YT and I wasn't going to give up hope, but time kept stretching on...
QUICK DISCLAIMER: This whole playthrough thing was like four months ago. Mana is enjoying himself, he's got people who enjoy his content, and I'm happy for him. I don't wish him any ill, and I'm over the disappointment of it.
And so, my hope eventually burned out. I did make a game I was proud of. I did love the way it looked, but the big goal was gone, you know?
I decided after learning about FamiStudio to redo the game's soundtrack to complete the authenticity of it, and I left the game to die after the update.
Beyond that, I decided not to go through with the RPG thing, even though it was a very short project.
And just like that, both driving reasons I made Kyomu Kara were gone.
I always think of the game as worse than it actually was. I am really proud of what I did and I do really love the way it feels. But it sat without purpose, posing questions that I never had any intention of answering.
And there you have it. Kyomu Kara is not entirely canon, and the new level in LittleGame will fill that spot in the story.
The parts of Kyomu Kara where you play as King and Skipper's friend are still accurate, and I think they tie things together nicely, but the part where you play as Skipper is not.
Thank you for your time.
