Looking back at Version 1.0 of Omniversal, It had some performance issues and the game was rushed when development was nearing its conclusion, elements were not exactly what I had envisioned for the game altogether. So, I thought one day, why not make a complete overhaul of the game, and that's what lands us here today.
So, what will be different from 1.0?
Character Revamps. Half of the characters will be getting complete reworks to their mechanics, 1.0 had problems with the lack of variety and lack of polish due to some of them being rushed.
Balancing Changes. RNG elements have been significantly reduced, making the Max Mode (Fantastic Fifty) more on the scripted side. There will be little trinkets of RNG, but only very few characters are affected by it.
Official Soundtrack Retake. There is music that has been made for this game, those songs will be remastered and released to the public in due time.
Character Voice Acting. For this 2.0 Update, I'm going all the way in, I'm adding Voice Acting to the game. I really wanted to add voice acting to 1.0 when it was being developed but the lack of time I had at the time was a problem, so I cut some corners with AI Text to Speech for a few characters, however, now that I have the time, I'll be throwing the AI TTS away into the exosphere. I don't need it and I sure as hell don't want it in Omniversal anymore.
(Also, I don't need any volunteers yet. I'll probably make a follow-up post with all the open roles when the time comes.)
and much more stuff will be redone to make a better version of Omniversal Cataclysm all together.
I'll try to be more active, posting updates about the project.
Have a good Day/Night!
