it's so stupid, we're governed by old men believe they know everything, so much in fact that they create laws where they don't even know how bad it truly is, everyone is so idealistic and lacking realism that they don't notice how much they hurt the people, i don't know all leaders of the world, so i can of course be wrong with most countries, but from all the countries i have seen in terms of politics, it's just a huge shit show, I understand that we have many crises. yet, people always focus on one certain perspective and ignoring the possible consequences, i can understand that, i am probably no different, it's probably in our nature, yet, it pains me to see how idealistic politicians or old men just decide to force one policy while ignoring all kinds of dangers connected to said ideology. they believe they are so smart, and when it leads to a huge crash, if it backfires hard, then can't even admit that it's their fault. and even when it didn't backfire yet, some consequences are rather obvious like the whole age verification push from australia, california, the united kingdom, and even france amd germany are considering it.. ignoring the complete concept of privacy, because with these age verification pushes, in my personal unprofessional opinion i see two possible scenarios, scenario 1: they really enforce it, then you likely have to show your ID with other companies probably really liking that, alternatively scenario 2: they don't fully enforce it due to privacy, it's basically useless as kids can Bypass it no problem, and yes, I've also seen a proposed solution where the government has some app to prove it which you can use instead of your ID, but it's not better as it's just a huge it's so stupid, It's just a huge target for hackers due to the masses of data inside it. and yes, i do understand the issue is complex, children are in grave danger in the internet as modern parents don't pay attention to their childrens activity online, and predators just wait for children, this obviously isn't the solution. of course, i don't know what the solution could be, i never claimed i did, i just wish governments are led by experts where necessary, and that people could just think for once...
