"End of the Line" is always evolving and getting better and better. However, some changes take a bit longer than expected or are so huge that we are tied up here with work. We don't want to delay the game any further but after you hear this news, I'm sure you'll consider.
"End of the Line" has been developed on Unity for the last 3 years, but I've always felt that it was incomplete... until now. We have officially ported from Unity to Unreal starting right now!
Wait... why?
A lot of people may wonder why we decided to make a big change so late in development. The true answer is that this has been a change always in the back of my mind due to some of the limitations of Unity and its easiness to be edited. Do keep in mind that this is not at all a diss on Unity as it is a popular and very well rounded engine, however, Unreal fits better in our games' scopes. We decided to leave Unity on July 29th, 2019 and start working on Unreal Development.
Why are we hearing about this so late then?
Well, first off, we are deeply deeply sorry for the confusion and lack of information. At Plummet Studios, we will try from now on to be more transparent with our dear players to ensure everyone gets the news as soon as possible. However, while we knew we wanted to switch from Unity to Unreal, we were not sure if it was possible or worth it. However, the more we worked with Unreal, the more we realized it felt better and fit like a glove. Also, it's taking us a bit longer than we thought to properly begin on a point of development as I, personally, am learning the new languages and workflow with Unreal after being used to Unity for so long. It's a slow process at first but has ramped up and I feel like we're getting closer and closer to making a product that people will truly enjoy.
So, that's our main story for our sudden disappearance. With this, there is another delay in the game's development and events. The Anomalous Summer has been fairly inactive as most have seen but it will be coming back for it's actual run during October, Anomalous Autumn rolled off the tongue better anyway
This new event will see the release of our board game, merchandise line, Patreon page, and a fully interactive ARG that will be FREE to play and reward real world prizes as well as copies of the game. *Prizes will be awarded after the ARG is fully completed*
Thank you so much for sticking with us, here's to a new round of screams!
