Over the weekend, my significant other and I were trying to get into Overcooked, but we found the game to be a bit too stressful. So, I thought to myself, "Why not create a game with similar mechanics, but with a more relaxed vibe?" And just like that, my new game idea was born: running a coffee shop with the chillest customers you'll ever meet.

I quickly got to work and nailed down the basic mechanics of the game in no time. It was so satisfying to pick up and move things around!
As I continued to develop the concept, I decided to make the characters in the game adorable animal characters. I started off by designing a fox character, and it was just too cute not to include in the game.

Just yesterday, I finished up the customer AI, which means they now go through the entire process of arriving, choosing a seat, ordering, waiting for their order, receiving it, drinking it, paying, and leaving. Next up, I'll be working on the gameplay loop: starting the day, prepping the shop, spawning customers, ending the day, and tallying up the daily stats.

Here's a video of how the game is working so far!
I'm super stoked to start chronicling my progress in this devlog! I know it's a bit of a long shot, but if any of you happen to come across it and give it a read, I'd love to hear your feedback and suggestions.
Thanks for stopping by, and until next time
